Handover at Trinity Hospital Retford

The new Darrel Room at Trinity Hospital, Retford was completed on time, ready for Trinity Hospital's Carol Service

Trinity Hospital is a Grade II listed building in Retford, owned and operated by Trinity Hospital Estates.

The project involved the Construction of a New Common Room, for the use of Trinity Hospital’s Brethren, as well as some other internal alterations.

The extension is a blend of modern construction with traditional features. The main room boasts a large semi-circular window-wall, emblazoned with the Trinity Hospital Logo, and the roofing is in zinc. The wall facing the driveway obscured this from immediate view however and has been designed and constructed to mimic the details of the existing building, as well as including timber windows with stone surrounds.

The room had to be completed by Thursday, December 17th so it was ready for Trinity Hospital’s Annual Carol Service, which, at the kind invitation of Trinity Hospital, was also attended by representatives of TG Sowerby Developments who had been involved with the project.

Steve Lyon, the Site Manager and a Director of T.G. Sowerby Developments, said:

“It has been my privilege and delight to oversee this project. Everyone at Trinity Hospital has made us feel extremely welcome whilst we have been working here. The project has given our operatives a chance to showcase their skills and our apprentices the opportunity to learn their trades on a different kind of project. My bias will show, but I truly believe the quality of build that has been turned out by our operatives and the other Contractors on this project is second to none.”
