Three New Housing Projects for 2016

T.G. Sowerby Developments will be as busy as ever in 2016, with three new housing developments starting this month.

We will be starting three new projects, two for Scunthorpe’s ONGO Homes and another for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, with a total of 24 houses and 4 flats to build:

North Street, Anlaby

This project, which will see T.G. Sowerby Developments venture across the Humber to Anlaby, is our first development of Social Housing for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. It will see a block of four one-bedroom flats built on the site of the former Anlaby Library (following its relocation). The project will be ably overseen by our Darren Cupitt and is scheduled to finish in September.

St Lawrence’s Road Scunthorpe

The development at St Lawrence’s Road, in Scunthorpe, will see two detached and two semi-detached houses built for Scunthorpe Housing Association, ONGO Homes. This will be Chris Sowerby’s fourth consecutive project for ONGO, and he will be moving onto it following the completion of the Ermine Grove Scheme, at the end of this month.

Plymouth Road, Scunthorpe

This is the largest development on our calendar, a scheme of 20 detached and semi-detached houses on a parcel of land to the west of Plymouth Road, in the Westcliff area of Scunthorpe. This project is being carried out for ONGO Homes, as part of their overall vision for the enhancement and redevelopment of Westcliff, and is a scheme that has been jointly developed by ONGO and T.G. Sowerby Developments. Steve Lyon will be overseeing this project, following the completion of the ‘Grand Design’ house extension to a private home in Great Limber.

T.G. Sowerby Developments’ Managing Director, Steve Sowerby, said “2016 will see T.G. Sowerby Developments’ bring its award-winning approach to Social House Building to three exciting new projects, and we will be setting on several apprentices from the local area. These projects will give these lads the best opportunities to practice and learn their skills, working alongside our experienced tradesmen. We are also investing in new plant and equipment and these projects will be the first for our brand new JCB Mini-Digger and JCB Skiploader.”
