LABC Building Excellence Awards 2022 – Grand Final

Regional Winner – The Old Coal Yard Development, Scunthorpe

T. G. Sowerby Developments’ project ‘The Old Coal Yard’ was a finalist at the recent Grand Finals of the National LABC Building Excellence Awards

T. G. Sowerby Developments are celebrating after its New Build Housing Development at Grange Lane South, Scunthorpe received Regional and National Accolades.

The Old Coal Yard, constructed on the site of the former Mastin’s Coal Yard in Scunthorpe, a prominent site in the Town had won the LABC’s 2022 Building Excellence Award for Best Small Social and Affordable Housing Development for the Yorkshire Region.

T. G. Sowerby Developments’ Steve Sowerby, Chris Sowerby, George Sowerby, James Bonsall and Ashley Clay attended the National Finals which saw the project recognised as one of the top ten best small Social and Affordable Developments from last year across all of England and Wales.

Managing Director Steve Sowerby said,

This is the second year in a row that one of our affordable housing developments has reached these National Finals and we are extremely proud that we are continuing to put North Lincolnshire on the map as a place to showcase the high quality that can be achieved for developments of this nature. The site presented an extremely challenging brief, but George, Ashley and their team excelled themselves and produced a development which we are all extremely proud of and the national recognition it has received is a credit to them.
